IT Technician Apprentice

Looking for a career in IT, with on-the-job training and a clear path to future opportunities?

ECF currently have an opening for an IT Technician Apprentice, who will be responsible for all of the IT requirements of the business.

ECF is based in Rearsby, Leicestershire with limited public transport links.  It is therefore essential that you are able to travel to work under your own steam.

This role is suitable for someone who has GCSE Grades A*-C in English, maths and IT, as well as an A-Level or BTEC in IT or related subject. You will need to demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for all things IT, as well as an eagerness to learn and develop new skills.

We are searching for a problem solver, with good communication skills and attention to detail. In addition to this, you must be polite, courteous, with an approachable demeanour, and flexible approach to your workload.

There will be some freedom within the role, so you must be able to make decisions when presented with them, as well as taking responsibility for the outcome of those choices.

Your main duties will include:

  • Making sure staff workstations meet company standards, with the correct software installed.
  • Communicating with external suppliers to address issues with computers, printers, network, phone systems, etc.
  • Keeping a log of technical faults and identifying reoccurring issues
  • Checking backup logs
  • Staying up to date with basic network infrastructure in case on onsite difficulty and liaising with support (including cabling, switches, routers and servers)
  • Maintaining external equipment for TSMs such as laptops, printers and mobiles
  • Maintaining up-to-date infrastructure of ECF network setup/desk layout/computer maps
  • Setting up new employees with basic requirements and installations as required, including email address, computer/laptop, monitor, phone/headset and mobile phones

This apprenticeship has the potential to lead to further opportunities within the company for those who demonstrate commitment and desire to progress.

Furniture Production Operations Apprentice

What a production!

The crowd will surely go wild when you achieve a Level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations during your time as a Furniture Productions Operations Apprentice, with ECF.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to get their foot in the door at an established and well-respected company. 

ECF is based in Rearsby, Leicestershire with limited public transport links.  It is therefore essential that you are able to travel to work under your own steam.

Your duties as a Furniture Productions Operations Apprentice will include reading job sheets and ensuring the high standards of manufacture are maintained. You will need to work to scheduled production dates and make sure products are ready to be delivered to the customers on time, then complete any relevant paperwork.

Working in a busy production departments, you will be trained in using the right machinery and could be working on one or more of the following; operating woodworking CNC machines, cabinet assembly, door assembly, glass cutting and product picking

To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate:

  • Grades A* - C in GCSE English and maths (or equivalent)
  • Time management, communication and organisational skills.
  • An ability to work well alone and in a team, you will be given the freedom to make choices by yourself and expected to take responsibility for those decisions.
  • Physical fitness, as the role involves some lifting and manual handling.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to customer care.
  • A passion for the role, desire to learn and build your skills.
  • A courteous and respectful attitude and flexible approach to work.

Warehousing & Storage Apprentice

Looking for a role to keep you active and teach you great skills?

As a Warehouse & Storage Apprentice, you will be responsible for lifting and moving items in all shapes and sizes - with the help of specialist equipment and machinery, which you will be trained to use. In addition, you will be working with a great team, putting your communication skills and attention to detail to the test.

Alongside this, you will be earning your Warehousing & Storage Skills Level 2.

ECF is based in Rearsby, Leicestershire with limited public transport links.  It is therefore essential that you are able to travel to work under your own steam.

As well as being physically able to carry out daily warehouse tasks, we are looking for someone who:

  • A good level of maths, English and ICT
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Is safety conscious, with a knowledge and commitment to health & safety regulations and manual handling
  • Can work on their own and/or as part of a team. There will be a certain amount of freedom and responsibility for your own workload within the role, and you will need to make the right decisions at all times.
  • Is well presented, on-time and polite.
  • Really wants to do the job and learn new skills, while being good at following instructions.

Within this role, your learning will cover a wide range of practical skills, such as:

  • Improving your coordination.
  • Introducing you to the ins and outs of a busy warehouse environment
  • Working as part of a team to maintain a safe environment.

On a day-to-day basis, your role will include:

  • Picking, packing, labelling and dispatching items to meet customer orders.
  • Keeping your workspace and working area clean, tidy and safe.
  • Paying attention to safety procedures and using them in your everyday work.
  • Working as part of the team, by completing all assigned tasks and supporting your colleagues.
  • Working with and supporting other teams when needed.
  • Any other duties required by the management team.
